Arjun Kapoor picks Priyanka as his favourite actress

Arjun Kapoor is now working with Priyanka Chopra for the film “Gunday” which also stars Ranveer Singh. The film is being produced under the banner of YRF and will be directed by “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan” director Ali Abbas Zafar. Arjun Kapoor used to be plump before stepping into acting. He lost 40-50 kgs when advised by Salman Khan before making his debut.

As we bid goodbye to 2012 and usher in 2013, we also gear up for the award functions that will felicitate the best actors for the bygone year. The year provided the audiences with fabulous films like “Kahaani”, “Barfi!”, “Paan Singh Tomar”, “Talaash” and much more.

When Arjun Kapoor was asked about his pick of the female lead for this year he said, “Best actress this year (2012) is Priyanka Chopra. She has done terrific work in `Barfi!`. She has done a wonderful work. So, she has to be my favorite actress for this year.” He said this while at Zee Cine Awards Red Carpet.

The film Barfi has been a hit. Ranbir Kapoor played the character of a deaf and mute, while Priyanka played the character of Jhilmil who was an autistic. She played her part effortlessly and was praised by the critics and the audiences. Ileana D’Cruz too made her debut with “Barfi”.

When he was quizzed about his favorite song from the films that released last year he said it was “Deva Shree Ganesha” from the film Agneepath. He said, “My favorite song has been `Deva shree Ganesha` from ‘Agneepath’. I think that song has helped me a lot in my workout. Every day I workout listening to that song. So that`s my favorite."

Priyanka and Arjun’s film Gunday is based in Calcutta of the 70’s and 80’s. The two male lead actors of the film Bikram and Bala will turn from small-time coal thieves to powerful and influential mafia men. Their notoriety and friendship then becomes the talk of the town as they then are termed as “Gunday”.

Earlier Katrina Kaif who worked with ‘Gunday’-director in his previous film had been considered for Priyanka’s role. The reason for the change being, “The lead female role is rather challenging and performance based. And the makers thought that Priyanka would fit the bill better.”
