Priyanka spends New Year’s Eve with her ailing father

Recently though Priyanka has been garnering a lot of response from the world over for her film “Barfi!” and her debut international music album ‘In my City’, her personal life is kaput. Her father Dr. Ashok Chopra is not keeping well since a long time now.
Priyanka Chopra has never shied away from telling the world that she is her daddy’s girl, so much so that she got this tag (read: ‘Daddy’s lil girl’) etched on her forearm.

Everybody knows that the Bollywood actors and divas get paid heavy amounts for turning up at events and dance shows especially during New Year’s Eve. Priyanka thus also had such offers that would give her an opportunity to mint money. However, as she is very close to her father and is concerned about his health she chose to stay by him and turned down three such offers.

It had also been reported some time back that her father’s worsening health conditions had affected her so much that she had to give many retakes at her shoots as she forgot her lines. This is something that is not characteristic of Priyanka as she is an excellent actress.

A spokesperson of the actress said, “She has turned down three offers to perform on New Years and will be spending time with her family.”

Earlier she had tweeted, 'Seeing my dad so weak and so fragile breaks me just a lil bit more.. Dads r supposed to be superheroes..need some prayers today.”

She had also visited Siddhivinayak temple and Haji Ali Dargah sometime last year to seek blessings. She had tweeted about it saying, “'Early morning aarti at siddhivinayak and an amazing ziyarat at haji ali...as the sun comes up I feel faith..and belief.. And hope.”

She also uploaded a photograph of her father on Twitter that had the caption, “My Daddy Strongest”. This made all her fans and well-wishers let their support known to her. She thus tweeted, “Thank u for all ur good wishes for my dad... Will convey the msg.. Means a lot to us as a family.”

Priyanka has a few good films coming up. She will be seen opposite Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in “Gunday”. She is also in the remake of “Zanjeer” that stars Southern star Ram Charan and Sanjay Dutt.

We only hope that her father recovers soon and that Priyanka is able to focus on her career and look happy and at ease again.
